UKCA Marking for Machinery
The UKCA marking applies to most machines supplied for use in the United Kingdom that were previously subject to the CE marking. The marking indicates that complete machinery complies with the Essential Health & Safety Requirements detailed in the UK Machinery (Safety) Regulations as detailed on an accompanying “UK Declaration of Conformity”.
The UKCA marking can be used from 1 January 2021, however, a period of grace has been allowed to allow businesses time to adjust. Companies will still be permitted to use the CE marking until 1 January 2022.
The UKCA marking will not be recognised on the EU market. Products currently requiring a CE marking will still need a CE marking for sale in the EU.
